Radio host Jone Nikula returned to work on Radio City’s afternoon broadcast after his sick leave on Monday.
At the beginning of the broadcast, the rock band Dropkick Murphys was heard Rose Tattoo -song, after which Nikula was able to speak.
– There has been a two-month break from radio work here, Nikula said.
The reason for the man’s absence was serious.
– My absence has drawn attention. I owe you an explanation. The reason for that is that I had a heart attack at the end of January. The doctors prescribed three months of sick leave, of which I decided to skip the last month because this job is not so physically demanding.
Nikula commented that the heart attack happened in the middle of the working day.
– I managed to call an ambulance myself and then my colleagues called an ambulance.
The radio host was transported to Meilahti Hospital.
The radio host commented on his health to Iltalehte last week at the premiere of the new Duudsonit movie. At that time, he still did not tell the reason for his sick leave.
– I have been able to get sick and recover in peace. It has made life easier.
Previously, the favorite voice was heard on the Radio Rock channel.
– For twenty years I did these jobs at Radio Rock. The radio industry is a hell of a nice industry. I have a couple of projects here. When the summer is over, I could start looking at what to do, Nikula said a year ago in April.
The man felt good about the change.
– It’s been a hell of a lot of fun. There are a lot of old acquaintances there, and new acquaintances are hellish, Nikula said in March.
