The Golden State Warriors are under pressure to make the most of Stephen Curry’s remaining years. According to reports, the Warriors could try again to steer LeBron James to the Bay Area.

According to NBA insider Marc Stein (The Stone Line) the possibility of James moving to the Warriors now has “some substance”. After James has repeatedly expressed his interest in playing with Curry one day, Golden State is now considered one of the few credible destinations should he actually leave the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer.

Even before the trade for Jimmy Butler last season, the Warriors were internally considering signing the now 41-year-old. This summer, the all-time scoring leader will become an unrestricted free agent.

While James leaves his future open, the Lakers are already preparing for change: In order to create financial leeway for the squad around Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, a farewell to LeBron after eight years in Los Angeles seems possible for the first time.

This season, James has impressively demonstrated that he can be a reinforcement even in old age: in 53 games so far, he has averaged 20.9 points, 6 rebounds and 6.9 assists in just under 34 minutes per game.
