Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five: The Kidd Creole convicted of manslaughter

Kidd Creole, best known as a former member of Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, has been convicted of manslaughter in New York. Nathaniel Glover, the real name of the 62-year-old rapper, was arrested and charged in 2017. He is said to have stabbed a homeless man in New York City. The judgment is to be carried out on May 4, 2022.

“Glover committed a shocking act of violence,” prosecutor Bragg said in a statement. “This conviction makes it clear that my office holds people who commit violent crimes to full legal accountability. I thank the jury members for their attention to this case and their careful consideration.”

The original police report said that Glover stabbed strangers in the torso twice on August 1, 2017, when he was a homeless 55-year-old, 55-year-old John Jolly. Glover fled the scene of the crime to his workplace, changed his clothes, and threw the murder weapon, a knife, down a sewer. The victim was found by tourists and taken to a hospital, where his death was pronounced.

Glover was born in 1960. He grew up in the Bronx. With his brother Melvin (Melle Mel) and Keef Cowboy he founded the Three MC’s in 1978, which were produced by Grandmaster Flash. They recorded two singles with two other rappers, then renamed themselves Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five and recorded the EP SUPERAPPIN’. Two studio albums followed.
