Social media influencer and author Veera Papinoja tells about his thoughts on the changes in his own body after losing 60 kilos on social media.
The influencer known for her body-positive content is known on social media as Veera Bianca.
Papinoja has published a video on social media in which he describes how everyday things feel foreign to him due to his previous overweight. He says that he recently thought about a difficult topic in therapy.
– Such mundane things seem so foreign to me that it’s as if I came from some outer space into the society where everyone else lived all this time, when I’ve been living a little like behind a curtain, Papinoja says.
He describes it as arousing relief and sadness in him at the same time. He gives an example: buying jeans in a store has been a foreign thing to Papinoja.
– Going to the store and buying jeans is a completely new experience for me. It hasn’t been an option before. There have been no stores that have sold jeans that fit me.
– A completely everyday thing, but something so foreign to me.

It’s also a new experience to ask a friend where he found his jeans and go and negotiate the same.
Another everyday example is related to dating. Papinoja says that she has had bad experiences with dating and has been treated badly.
Papinoja says in the video that a man had called recently and asked about his whereabouts. At the same time, the man had said that he missed Papinoja.
– It was a completely foreign experience for me! No man or dating partner has ever called me in my entire life to ask how I was doing. Never, he says.
Papinoja previously talked about her dating experiences in Iltalehti’s Ukkola program.
Papinoja said that the majority of men do not see her as a potential partner, but as a one-night stand.
– Unfortunately, the experiences have mostly been such that someone has had a fetish or a bucket list that one day I want to have sex with a fat woman, he described earlier.
