The national coach has to compensate for another personnel loss. A replacement has already been determined.

Julian Nagelsmann has to do without a player again. The national team squad continues to change. After the cancellations of Aleksandar Pavlović and Felix Nmecha as well as the early departure of Jamie Leweling, Jonas Urbig is no longer there. The young goalkeeper from FC Bayern Munich, who was called up for the national team for the first time last week after strong performances as a replacement for the injured Manuel Neuer, has suffered a capsular injury in his right knee joint. The DFB announced this on Thursday evening.

On Thursday morning, the 22-year-old was still on the pitch for the final training session in Herzogenaurach, but then there was certainty: Urbig had to leave. National coach Julian Nagelsmann nominated Finn Dahmen from FC Augsburg. The DFB selection will face Switzerland in Basel on Friday (from 8:45 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online), and on Monday (from 8:45 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online) they will face Ghana in Stuttgart. After Marc-André ter Stegen’s injury, Oliver Baumann is number one in goal, Alexander Nübel is his first representative.

At the press conference early on Thursday evening, Nagelsmann announced details about the starting eleven against Switzerland. Accordingly, Kai Havertz will celebrate his comeback to the national soccer team after more than a year. The long-injured attacker from Arsenal FC will play from the start, like central defenders Jonathan Tah and Nico Schlotterbeck, in the first World Cup endurance test at St. Jakob-Park in Basel. Angelo Stiller will also be deployed in the defensive center alongside Leon Goretzka from the start of the game.
