Tennis superstar Carlos Alcaraz has a new “toy”: a multi-million dollar luxury yacht. The idea to buy came to him in 2024 after he suffered one of the worst defeats of his career.

Tennis professional Carlos Alcaraz has followed the example of many successful sports stars and can now call himself the proud owner of a luxury yacht. The Spaniard confirmed the purchase of his new “toy” to the luxury lifestyle magazine “Robb Report”.

The Spaniard decided on an “88 Ultima” from the well-known boat builder Sunreef. The model is a catamaran, i.e. a boat with two hulls. A choice that tennis icon Rafael Nadal and former Formula 1 world champion Nico Rosberg made, among others, before Alcaraz. They also travel on the high seas in a catamaran.

Tennis star puts millions on the table for a new yacht

It is not officially known how much Alcaraz paid for its new boat. However, the starting price of the model series is around eight million euros. This amount can increase significantly through various specifications and modifications. It cannot be ruled out that the tennis star ended up putting up to ten million on the table for his new yacht.

The “88 Ultima” is almost 27 meters long, just over eight meters wide and has five guest cabins. There are also two crew cabins. The big special feature is the drive, because the model is operated electrically and does not produce any exhaust gases.

Alcaraz wants to “really, really have fun”

According to Alcaraz, the idea to buy the yacht came after the 2024 Olympic tennis final, which the Spaniard lost 6:7 and 6:7 to Novak Djokovic. He then spent his vacation on a similar model ship. “I just liked how comfortable it was. The space, the stability. I don’t think you can compare it to anything else,” he gushed to Robb Report.

And what are his plans for his time on the water? “I really, really want to have fun. I want to charge up my jet ski and enjoy the water.” If at some point the yacht is too small for him and he needs additional space, “I’ll probably get something bigger. But for now, I want this one [Yacht] enjoy it as much as I can.”
