What is that?
Oliver? Are you ready for the World Cup? I’m ready. Could start tomorrow. As far as I’m concerned it could start tomorrow. Do you feel like you’re in the team too? Yes. Everyone will be up for it. We generally have to look from day to day. From. From. Just take whatever training we get. Because there won’t be as many in the club as there are now. But the boys are hot, we’re up for it. Do you have any doubts personally? I don’t know about the team. That means we will be world champions. That’s a good plan. I also think it’s good to set high goals. But it won’t help if we look weeks ahead and plan in the sense of yes, we’ll play the game like this, we’ll do it like this and then we’ll be there. That won’t do much good. Oliver How does that sound to you? At 35, to be Germany’s number one at the World Cup. I can imagine that is. That is. This is a special story. A great story too. What does that do to you personally as a person? Yes, first and foremost it makes me extremely proud. I always emphasize how proud it makes me to be with the national team. And. And to be able to spend any time here. Which of course makes me enormously proud on the one hand. On the other hand, somewhere this confirms the path I have taken. The attitude that I have had and still have. And that’s why it’s more than positive.
Germany stands behind you. We published a Forsa survey today. Oliver Baumann is clearly number one of all German goalkeepers. So the fans also want them to be in goal.
This is special. Definitely clear. That is also positive. Feels, feels super good! Despite it. It is important that we as a team get the fans behind us. I think that, despite one or two difficulties in qualifying, we have still done a lot to achieve this and must continue to do so. It’s just the best thing to have as athletes and fans behind you. Those who are for you and as a national team you can get the whole country behind you and then have them. It makes you extremely proud and is totally helpful. Yes.
Finally, what can you promise the fans from the German team for Friday?
The approach and the intensity. The intensity will be very, very important, also for our game. And, and. That will be the goal, that we more than eleven, that we, as we are now 25, simply fight for each other, fight for each other and do everything for success, for the team and yes, for the country of course.
