Two concerts, no contract – Dieter Bohlen explains on Instagram why, in his opinion, the Lithuania story is a media duck.
Dieter Bohlen spoke out on Instagram and commented on media headlines about the fact that two of his concerts in Lithuania were allegedly canceled due to pro-Russian statements. He states in a video: There were never any planned shows, let alone contracts for such events.
What was previously reported
The Lithuanian media “LRT” previously reported that two gigs by Dieter Bohlen and his band Blue System, which were supposed to take place in Lithuania on November 20th and 21st, 2026, had disappeared from ticket sales and from the arena websites. Mantas Vedrickas, head of event organization at the Žalgiris Arena in Kaunas, told “LRT”: “Yes, the concert in Kaunas has been canceled. We consulted with the organizers and agreed that such an event should not take place in our arena.”
A controversial statement by Bohlen on social media was discussed as a possible background for the alleged cancellations. In November 2025 he was a guest of precious metals expert Dominik Kettner on YouTube. There he spoke about economic relations between Russia and Germany. He said: “Russia and Germany – that was a dream team.” Many read the statement as pro-Russian. According to the social media rumor mill, she is said to have been the deciding factor in the cancellations.
Lithuania has a strict policy against Russian influence. This is particularly true given the current Russia-Ukraine war and our own experience with Soviet occupation.
But according to the DSDS juror, the situation with regard to supposedly planned and canceled concerts is completely different – he had never signed any contracts.
Bohlen wants to create facts
Bohlen spoke from the Maldives. In an Instagram clip, he firmly denied the reports. His statement only concerned the economic past. The phrase “were a dream team” refers to earlier times. He also made it clear: The concerts in Lithuania were never planned because no contract was ever concluded.
The pop titan also announced that his lawyers would send warnings to all media that had reported on the alleged concert cancellations.
