Collien Fernandes has spoken out on Instagram – about tomorrow’s demo in Hamburg against digital violence against women and about the allegations from various portals that her publication of the complaint against her ex-husband Christian Ulmen was agreed with the Federal Ministry of Justice in order to enable a common timing.
Fernandes writes:
“I filed a report against unknown persons with the Berlin police on November 21, 2024. I have verifiably forwarded documents and investigative approaches to the investigating officers by email. I also provided the officers with my private cell phone number and email address so that they could contact me. When I asked by email, I was told that the case had been passed on to Schleswig-Holstein and that I would be contacted. After that, I heard nothing more. I did not receive a letter and have not been contacted “I contacted you by phone or email – which had been the communication method up to that point – through SPIEGEL research that the ad had been handed over to Itzehoe and put up AND ANOTHER THING: I was actually planning to go there and speak there at 5:30 p.m.
And further: “Now there are serious security concerns due to death threats against me. Is this your way, dear misogynists, of dealing with this? How are women supposed to have the courage to rebel in the future if that is your answer – if you are silenced like that? And one more question: What do you think, why so far there have only been affidavits from me, none from the perpetrator? Hmm? Please be LOUD for me! TOMORROW at the demo! We urgently need to bring LIGHT into the DARK FIELD! Only 5% of psychological and physical partner violence is reported! THE MAJORITY: IN THE DARK Why?
The central points of their appeal
Fernandes’ call covers several points: Several media outlets accuse her of not handing over certain content that she considered as evidence against Ulmen to the police despite being asked to do so – she is now taking a stand on this.
She also indicated that she might stay away from the demo in Hamburg because of the death threats. She addresses Christian Ulmen without naming him and points out that, unlike her, the “perpetrator” did not submit an affidavit, which speaks against his credibility.
The Instagram picture shows Fernandes with a plaster over her mouth – but she doesn’t want to be silenced.
