The “country brand” is a category or distinction that is awarded, by the National Country Brand Directorate, to products or services that condense features of Argentina’s identity. They summary the essential characteristics of the image that the country offers to the world and they are a way of communicating values and talents to tourism and international trade.
A few days ago, chef Gonzalo Aramburu was chosen Ambassador of the Country Brand in the world and received the distinction in a very particular context. Argentina was the Guest Country of Honor in “Taste is Polanco”, one of the most important gastronomic events in Latin America that takes place in Mexico City, where restaurants and professionals from the entire region participate. The City of Buenos Aires was also part of the festival through its organization Visit Buenos Aires.

Gonzalo Aramburu, our only two-Michelin-starred chef, was one of the prominent figures in the Argentine delegation. “It was an honor to participate in Sabor es Polanco and I deeply appreciate this invitation. Representing Buenos Aires in a meeting of this magnitude allowed us to share the work we do in the restaurant, with a focus on the product, technique and identity, and to continue spreading Buenos Aires gastronomic culture on an international stage,” Aramburu stated in his presentation. In this context he received the Country Brand distinction, as a reward for his talent, creativity and career, values that make him an excellent representative of Argentine gastronomy.
At the Premium Tasting Bar, one of the most important moments of the event, Aramburu offered a Southern Prawn Brochette with oranges and saffron from Córdoba, along with a Dulce de Leche Frozen Cream, pistachio foam and salt crystal, a menu that highlighted the natural flavors of the country.

The Crizia and La Cabrera restaurants They were also part of that event with menus that synthesized the spirit of Argentine gastronomy and the diversity of its styles and proposals.
