Paris is littered with posters displaying Celine Dion song titles – from “Pour Que tu M’aimes Encore” to “Power of Love”. The billboards spread across the city are fueling growing speculation that the singer is planning a series of comeback concerts.

The French medium La Presse reported this weekend that Dion will perform residency performances at the Paris La Défense Arena in September and October. The show series will therefore include two performances per week in the 40,000-seat venue.

Dion’s management did not initially respond to a request from ROLLING STONE.

Fight against the disease

Dion gave her last regular headlining concert in 2020 as part of the “Courage” tour. The tour ultimately ended abruptly due to the pandemic. In the years that followed, every stage appearance became more and more challenging for the artist as her battle with stiff person syndrome brought new complications. “Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes making it difficult for me to walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords the way I’m used to,” Dion said in 2022.

Since there is no cure for the rare neurological disease, Dion has learned to live with it and stays fit through intensive training. “Five days a week I do athletic, physical and vocal therapy,” she said in 2024. “I work on my toes, my knees, my calves, my fingers, my singing, my voice… I have to learn to live with it now and stop questioning myself.”

In recent years, Dion has returned to the stage in two rare moments. In 2024, she sang “Hymne à L’amour” in a moving performance during the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics. That same year, she performed “The Power of Love” and “I’m Alive” at the “1001 Seasons of Elie Saab” fashion show in Saudi Arabia.
