NHL reporter Jesse Pierce37, died on Saturday together with her three children in a fire that broke out in her own home. The fire also took the family’s dog.
The Pierce family lived in a detached house in the Minneapolis area. Neighbors called the fire department when they saw flames rising through the roof of the house. The fire department arrived at the scene on Saturday morning at 5:30, but the family was already dead.
Pierce, who has written stories for the NHL’s website for the last ten seasons, was a regular face at the Minnesota Wild’s home games.
– Jess’s love for family and hockey was reflected in the energy and passion he brought to us in his work. He was a pleasure to talk to and work with. He will be deeply missed, Executive Vice President and Editor-in-Chief of the NHL.com website Bill Price tells.
The Minnesota Wild also shared the sad news on the X messaging service.
– Jessi was a kind, compassionate person who cared deeply about her family and the people around her, Wild’s message describes.
