FC Volendam striker Martijn Kaars will join Helmond Sport next season. The 23-year-old Candle has signed for three years with the current bottom of the first division. He was recently told that his current club did not want to continue with him.
Kaars played in youth for both FC Volendam and Ajax. In 2018 he left the Amsterdam youth academy and joined the first FC Volendam.
Since then, Kaars has made 98 appearances in the first division. The Monnickendammer managed to score 27 times. This season the counter stands at four hits. FC Volendam still had an option for next season to extend Kaars’ contract by one year. But because he made less and less minutes, the club decided to forgo this.
