With the GT750 Mash changes pace. The 730 cc parallel twin, the 24 liter tank, the wraparound fairing, the standard suitcases, the electrically adjustable windshield, and even the front and rear cameras tell the story of a motorcycle built to raise the bar
In Italy the name Mash has been associated above all with the retro-style 125s, simple and accessible motorbikes with which the French brand made itself known. In reality, the company had already extended its pace with some 400s and 650s, but with the GT750 it aims to change the scenario: no longer an essential single-cylinder or a medium-sized one with a classic taste, but a true faired tourer, rich in features and with mileage-crushing ambitions. Mash had in fact already proposed models such as Five Hundred 400, Six Hundred 650 and A range of motorcycles produced in China or developed on a Chinese basis for the European market.
anti-German
—
The GT750 thus enters new territory for the brand, that of medium-high size grand tourers, a segment which in recent years has been progressively crushed by the success of crossovers. Officially it is French, but it is a Chinese Jedi Motors model adapted and revised for the French and European market. Its stage presence is built precisely to underline this leap in category, with a wide front, enveloping fairing, high windshield, integrated side cases and a silhouette that it openly recalls the tradition of European tourers. In this last aspect, the stylistic kinship with the great German road bikes (one in particular) is evident, but so is the attempt to offer a motorbike with an important image at a decidedly aggressive price.
interesting numbers
—
The heart of the new Mash is a 730 cc parallel twin, liquid-cooled, with double camshaft distribution, Euro 5+ approved. The declared power is 74.8 horsepower at 8,500 rpm, while maximum torque reaches 69 Nm at 6,800 rpm. These are numbers that place it in an interesting intermediate range, high enough to give it credibility as a full-fledged touring bike, but still in an area of economic and technical accessibility that remains consistent with the brand’s philosophy. A weakened version for A2 license is also available, rated at 47.5 horsepower.
no cardan
—
There final transmission is by chaina less noble choice than the cardan adopted by higher-end tourers, but consistent with the objective of containing costs and final price. More interesting, however, is the general layout of the chassis. The GT750 features a double-spar aluminum alloy frame, aluminum swingarm and an adjustable upside-down fork. The braking system is also designed to enhance the image of the bike, with double 300 mm front disc, 260 mm rear disc, Brembo components and dual-channel Bosch ABS.
born to travel
—
The wheels have a diameter of 17 inches, and are combined with Michelin Road 6 tires in sizes 120/70 at the front and 180/55 at the rear. There is no concession to the adventure world, the GT750 was created for the asphalt, for fast touring and for traveling with luggage, rather than to chase the trend of total motorcycles. The proportions also go in this direction. The length is 2,230 mm, the width of 930, the height of 1,475, with a wheelbase of 1,464 mm. The saddle is positioned 780 mm from the ground, with a declared weight of 275 kgan important value, but in line with the type of motorbike.
it’s all there
—
One of the aspects that Mash insists on the most is equipment. In fact, the GT750 arrives already very complete, almost with the logic of a full optional motorbike offered at a fixed price, without surprises. Among the declared contents are the electrically adjustable windshield, keyless start, 12.3-inch TFT display, rigid side cases, heated saddle and grips. Added to this are Usb-A, Usb-C and 12V sockets, as well as a curious and unusual element in this range: the presence of standard front and rear cameras.
over 500 km on a full tank
—
Even on the level of practical tourism, the technical sheet tries to build a precise identity. The 24 liter tank it is one of the most significant data of the entire project, because it immediately recalls the idea of the great traveller, of the motorbike designed to cover many kilometers with few stops. In combination, Mash declares an average consumption of 4.6 liters per 100 km: a theoretical value which, at least on paper, suggests an interesting autonomy. The 3-year unlimited mileage warranty is part of the same strategy, to reassure the customer who is approaching an apparently low-cost product.
all for 11,999 euros
—
Commercial positioning is probably the most delicate and interesting point of the entire operation. In France the GT750 it is offered at 11,999 euros in the Noir and Gold colorsa price that places it well below the large European and Japanese premium tourers, but still high enough to mark a clear break with the Mash we have known so far. It is precisely here that the model plays its role: offering the appearance, equipment and layout of a real grand tourer at a price which, at least on paper, remains significantly more accessible than that required by the historical references of the category
