Chuck Norris is dead. This was confirmed by his family. More on this soon on rollingstone.de.

Chuck Norris, born on March 10, 1940 in Ryan, Oklahoma, is one of the most famous action actors and martial artists in the USA. His real name is Carlos Ray Norris. Growing up in humble circumstances, he developed discipline and perseverance at an early age – qualities that would later shape both his sporting and film career.

During his time in the US Air Force, Norris first came into intensive contact with martial arts. In South Korea he began to study Tang Soo Do, a martial art in which he achieved black belt. After returning to the USA, he opened his own martial arts schools and won numerous titles, including several world championships in karate. He quickly became a defining figure in the American martial arts scene.

He entered the film business in the early 1970s. He received international attention for his role as Bruce Lee’s opponent in “The Deathclaw Strikes Again”. In the following years, Norris established himself as a fixture in action cinema, especially through films like “Missing in Action” and “Delta Force”. His characters often embodied a clear moral compass, coupled with physical strength and an unshakable sense of justice.

From martial arts to the cinema

Norris became known to a wide television audience through the series “Walker, Texas Ranger,” which ran from 1993 to 2001. In it he played a law enforcement officer who fights crime not only with weaponry, but also with martial arts techniques. The series cemented his image as a steadfast law enforcement officer.

In addition to his career as an actor, Norris was also socially and politically active. He founded programs to empower youth through martial arts and advocated for values such as discipline, respect and responsibility. He also published several books in which he explains his philosophy of life.

In pop culture, Chuck Norris lives on not least through the so-called “Chuck Norris jokes,” which humorously exaggerate his superhuman abilities and make him an iconic figure between myth and reality.
