It started with a few liters of fuel and, according to BZ information, ended for three people in the hospital.
Shortly after 11 p.m. on Thursday evening, civil investigators from the Berlin police observed two men on Helene-Weigel-Platz (Marzahn) who were tampering with a truck and stealing diesel.
The officials then wanted to check the VW and its two occupants, but they gave full throttle. A chase began – via Märkische Allee and Landsberger Allee out of town. A BVG bus crossed Landsberger Allee at Bruno-Baum-Strasse and a crash occurred.
The VW was thrown onto the sidewalk by the collision, destroyed an electricity supply box, plowed through a bush and came to a stop against a tree.
Two fire brigade vehicles, which were on their way to a fire, immediately initiated rescue measures and alerted other emergency services.
According to initial information, there were four passengers and the driver on the bus. The latter was injured and had to be transported to a hospital.
According to the first information, the passengers were not injured except for a slight shock.
The two occupants of the VW had to be freed by the fire department. The two men were apparently seriously injured and were taken to hospital with a police escort.
Landsberger Allee was still closed in the morning due to the investigation.
