Harry Styles plays the action hero – with the help of some stunt doubles – in the new music video for “American Girls.”
Directed by James Mackel, Styles spends a day on set: he sets out on a motorcycle tour across the country, casually drives a sports car under a broken down tractor-trailer, runs through a desert landscape full of explosive devices and does a massive motorcycle flip in front of the setting sun.
Of course, a large part of it is realized using green screen technology and two highly trained stunt doubles. For all the action in the “American Girls” clip, there’s a certain charming daily routine about it all: Styles strolls from one scene to the next, snacks with his stunt doubles and stays well hydrated throughout.
New album and tour
The “American Girls” clip comes from Styles’ new album “Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.”, which also came out today. The album is his fourth studio effort and first in four years – following 2022’s “Harry’s House.” As with his previous albums, Styles recorded “Kiss All the Time” with his longtime collaborators Kid Harpoon and Tyler Johnson.
Styles is celebrating the release of “Kiss All the Time” with a concert in Manchester, England this evening. The show will be recorded and streamed on Netflix on Sunday March 8th from 9pm CET. After the Manchester show, he will appear on “Saturday Night Live” on March 14th – both as host and musical guest. His Together, Together tour starts on May 16th in Amsterdam.
