Hamburger SV will have to do without key player Nicolás Capaldo in defense for the time being. The vice-captain suffered an abdominal muscle injury early on during the game against RB Leipzig (1:2) and will be out for a few weeks, as the North Germans announced. This was revealed by investigations on Monday.
The 27-year-old Argentine, who moved from Red Bull Salzburg to the Hanseatic League in the summer, was substituted against the Saxons after just under 20 minutes and replaced by Warmed Omari (25). So far in his debut season for HSV, Capaldo has played 21 games (one goal) and wore the captain’s armband for long periods as Yussuf Poulsen’s (31) representative.
