TEHRAN (dpa-AFX) – The Iranian capital Tehran was rocked by heavy explosions in the evening. In the north of the city, the walls shook when two loud detonations were heard in quick succession, a dpa reporter reported on site. Pictures showed, among other things, a large fireball and a dark cloud of smoke over the city. The Isna news agency reported that state broadcasting facilities had been the target of an Israeli-American attack. According to further reports, the headquarters of the Iranian nuclear agency was also attacked.
The Israeli military reported in the evening that several dozen Iranian military command centers had been attacked in large-scale attacks, including the headquarters of the Revolutionary Guards, headquarters of the intelligence services, the air force and Iran’s internal security facilities. The aim was to hit facilities from which combat operations against Israel and other states were controlled, it said./cmy/DP/he
