Shortly after the US launched Operation Epic Fury against Iran, Jack White spoke out on social media – with sharp criticism of Donald Trump’s declaration of war and the president’s hypocritical peace policy.
“Don’t you love how he declares war on a country while wearing a trucker hat with ‘USA’ on it?” White wrote on social media on Saturday – accompanied by an image from Trump’s video message announcing the joint military operation against Iran.
“Behold the leader of the ‘Board of Peace’,” White added. “For the next declaration of war, donny – may I suggest having your feet up on the Resolute Desk, eating a Big Mac, wearing a velvet tracksuit?”
Venezuela, Greenland, Iran – doesn’t it matter?
White also pointed out that despite his desperate attempts to win a Nobel Peace Prize, Trump regularly acts aggressively toward other countries. “Venezuela, Greenland, Iran, Cuba – what’s the difference, right?” White wrote.
“Don Jr. and Barron don’t have to fight or die, just other people’s children, so… invade and bomb! New entries for the ‘board of peace’ start at a billion dollars! Can you believe Donny hasn’t gotten a real Nobel Peace Prize yet? Unfair! Maybe he’ll get one in his third term.”
The rocker was among the first artists to publicly comment on Operation Epic Fury in the hours after Trump announced the military campaign against the “very evil, radical dictatorship” in Iran.
Trump’s words on military deployment
“The Iranian regime wants to kill,” Trump said on Saturday. “The lives of brave American heroes could be lost, and there could be casualties. That often happens in war, but we are not doing this for now. We are doing this for the future, and it is a noble mission.”
White regularly denounces Trump on social media – most recently he criticized the president for his racist social media post against the Obamas.
Last month, White lambasted Trump after the president held a sprawling White House press conference touting the successes of his first year in office. In December, the musician got even with the president for his inhumane response to the death of Rob Reiner.
