UMK finalists Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen take a stand on Israel’s participation in the five.

Lampenius and Parkkonen have confirmed that they will participate in Eurovision if they win the New Music competition on Saturday night.

– Tonight we compete for UMK’s victory. If we get the honor to represent Finland at Eurovision, we will do it for music and humanity, the duo writes now Instagramin their accounts.

– We think the decision to allow Israel to participate in Eurovision is wrong. The events in Palestine are inhumane and reprehensible, they continue.

Antti Paalanen, Chachi, Kiki and Sinikka Monte have also announced that they will participate in Eurovision if UMK wins.

Two competitors have given a somewhat uncertain answer.

– If the victory comes from there, then we have to sit down with the team and think about the next move. As an idea, Finland is known for strong and brave women, so it would be great to be able to continue this legacy, Etta said earlier.

In recent years, there has been a political debate around the Eurovision Song Contest due to, among other things, the war in Gaza. Israel will participate in Eurovision in May. Some of the Eurovision representatives and countries do not want to participate in the competition because of Israel.
