An ice hockey match in the Russian KHL league between the Sochi team and CSKA Moscow was stopped after the first third due to Ukrainian drones.
“Due to the renewed announcement of a drone attack on the territory of Sirius and Sochi, it was decided not to continue the match between Sochi and CSKA,” the KHL said in a statement. It was not yet clear when the duel might continue.
The game at the Bolshoy Ice Dome, where the 2014 Olympic ice hockey tournament was held, was 0-0 at the time it was abandoned. The stands were cleared and the fans were sent home.
At this time there was a drone alarm in Sochi. Flight operations at Sochi Airport have been temporarily suspended. In response to the Russian war of aggression that has been going on for four years, Ukraine has repeatedly attacked its neighboring country with drone attacks.
