Drag Race Down Under drag artist known from the show Maxi Shield has died at the age of 51, says TMZ.
Another drag artist Vanity told Shield’s ie by Kristopher Elliott about the death on his Instagram.
– It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that our dear sister Maxine has passed away. We are all mourning the loss of an incredible icon, friend and beloved sister. Thank you for the laughs, giggles and magic you brought into our lives, she wrote.
Vanity says that the two have been friends for no less than 30 years.

Shield’s cause of death has not been announced, but he said that he was diagnosed with throat cancer last fall.
Drag Race Down Under is a reality TV show where drag artists compete against each other in a variety of challenges including fashion, performance and improv challenges with the goal of becoming the next drag star in Australia and New Zealand.
The series is based on the original American RuPaul’s Drag Race format.
Maxi Shield was popular with fans Drag Race Down Under in the first season in 2021. However, he ended up finishing sixth in the program.
