More details have emerged about Shia LaBeouf’s recent arrest in New Orleans, bin which he was charged with two counts of simple assault after allegedly hitting two people.

Arrested during Mardi Gras

The actor was celebrating Mardi Gras at a bar in the French Quarter earlier this week when a fight broke out after he was accused of “causing a disturbance,” according to police.

According to a New Orleans police report seen by The Associated Press, LaBeouf also allegedly shouted homophobic slurs at those he was fighting with, yelled, “Those f—–s put me in jail,” and said he was a Catholic. A representative for the actor did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Police report and witness statements

The report said LaBeouf, 39, “became increasingly angry and aggressive as the evening progressed.” He hit several people in the face with a closed fist at the Royal Street Inn & R Bar near the historic French Quarter.

Jeffrey Damnit, whom police identified as Jeffrey Klein in the incident report, said he was one of the people hit by LaBeouf. “He hit me. He hit me with his fists a few times, he pushed me a few times,” Damnit claimed. And he said he was wearing eye makeup and lipstick at the time and believes his appearance motivated LaBeouf’s attack.

More allegations and videos

“This was obviously something that upset him, made him angry and gave direction to his anger,” Damnit said. “This guy wants me dead. Because I wear makeup. This is a broken thing.” He claimed the actor had pushed him from behind earlier in the evening and shouted homophobic slurs. And threatened him with death.

According to the AP, a video shows a shirtless LaBeouf pushing one person to the ground and punching another in the face, causing their “nose to possibly dislocate,” according to the police report.

Post-arrest behavior

In another video recorded by Damnit, LaBeouf is seen looking into the camera and apparently saying a homophobic slur as police arrest him. According to the police report, he repeated the insult throughout the arrest.

After his arrest, officers took LaBeouf to the hospital where he was treated for unknown injuries. After his release he was arrested and charged. Hours after his release from prison, LaBeouf was seen again on the streets of New Orleans. At night he was seen dancing in the street. With what appeared to be his arrest documents in his mouth.

Reports from the film set

Prior to the various reports about LaBeouf’s behavior in New Orleans, three production sources told ROLLING STONE that the actor’s increasingly erratic behavior on the set of his upcoming film “The Rooster Prince” last fall caused concern. “He was completely out of control,” said one production member. “I don’t think he’s stable. I don’t know if he has been for some time.”
