Hill jumper Gregor Deschwanden won a real surprise bronze in the normal hill competition at the Olympics.
The prestigious medal was the first of his career for the 34-year-old Swiss, and he took the joy out of it. The Swiss national team was having a hard time in an Italian bar.
– We’ve had a lot to celebrate this year. I told the team that if there is a reason to celebrate, we should make the most of it. In any case, we had two days off after that, says Deschwanden.
The golden eagle’s memories of the evening stuttered a bit.
– I don’t even remember when I got home. It was a wild night, but we deserved it.
How did you feel in the morning?
– Actually, quite good, because we had been eating and drinking on vacation. Also, I slept a long time.
Deschwanden revealed the medal after winning for Swiss mediathat he is planning to get a pizza tattoo in honor of the celebration – while we are in Italy.
– I still have to think about when and where I would take it. After the season, there would be plenty of time for that, the jumper commented to Iltalehte.
What do you think your mom would say about a pizza tattoo?
– Probably “stupid boy”! But I’m not getting any facial or full body tattoos. He’ll be fine.
