According to news site TMZ, Duvall died at his home in Middleburg, Virginia on Sunday, February 15.
Duvall’s wife Luciana told about the death on his own Facebook– page on Monday.
– Yesterday we said goodbye to my beloved husband, my friend and one of the greatest actors of our time. Bob died peacefully in his own home, surrounded by love and comfort, the wife writes.
– To the world, he was an Oscar-winning actor, director and storyteller. He was everything to me. His love for his work was immense and matched only by his warm affection for characters, good food and togetherness.
Duvall’s wife also listed in her writing the things that Duvall loved.
– Bob gave everything of himself to each of his roles and to the human truth they reflected. In this way, he also leaves us all something permanent and memorable. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the support you have shown Bob over the years and for the time and peace you are giving us now to remember and cherish the memories he left behind, Duvall’s wife continues.
Duvall was awarded the Academy Award for Best Actor in his career for the 1983 film I miss the country. In all, he was nominated for an Oscar no less than seven times.
Duvall was married four times. He married Luciana Pedraza in 2005. Duvall had no children.
