Pippa Laukka talks about the outrageous comments she has received about her appearance on social media.

Pippa Laukka says that she is with you. Regardless, the comments hurt. KAISA VEHKALAHTI

Doctor Pippa Laukka published Instagram-on his account on Sunday, February 15, a sharp and direct writing regarding the commenting of other bodies. The background is personal experiences from the past week.

For the photos in the publication, Laukka had collected comments that he has received regarding his appearance. Another comment highlighted the heroin chic trend that took the world by storm in the 90s, where extreme thinness and pale skin were idealized. The appearance was rumored to be due to the use of heroin or other drugs.

In another comment, the commenter says that he saw Lauka in the elevator of the shopping center about a year ago. Lauka’s appearance was also referred to in this comment.

– Do you, who comment on another’s body so directly, understand what you are doing? We in the public eye are just ordinary people. Our skin, mind and heart are all exactly the same as yours. And to be honest, I think you wouldn’t say the same thing face to face, Laukka writes in his publication.

Laukka reminds that commenting on other bodies is offensive in any respect. Laukka also says that the comments hurt.

– And yes, it makes me feel bad too, even though I’m completely fine with myself and my body, regardless of size. I am strong and gentle inside and out, and I know it shows on the outside too.

Laukka says that he has also received inappropriate comments face to face.

– This week I was at the gym with my PT when someone came up to me in the middle of my training series to tell me how slim I am. We have a strange idea that commenting on thinness would somehow be more acceptable. There isn’t. Body peace applies to everyone.

Laukka says that he suggested putting a sign in the gym to remind about the gland.

– Maybe then people of all sizes and backgrounds would dare to exercise as they are and would be able to enjoy the joy of exercise without fearing the eyes and stares of outsiders.

– The body is not a public opinion column. It is not commented on without permission and never respectfully, Laukka concludes.

The post garnered a lot of comments and likes immediately after its publication. People identify with Lauka’s thoughts and also shared their own experiences related to the topic.
