Telekom shares fell on Wednesday after the publication of business figures from the mobile communications subsidiary T-Mobile US. Initially it almost reached a new annual high of 30.71 euros, but most recently the shares lost 1.03 percent to 29.89 euros in XETRA trading.
T-Mobile US slightly exceeded expectations in terms of sales in the fourth quarter, but earnings per share remained below expectations. Meanwhile, the important influx of new customers was convincing. The shares of the US mobile operator recently fell by 3.86 percent to $ 191.74 in pre-market trading on NASDAQ.
Deutsche Telekom does not plan to sell T-Mobile shares in 2026
Deutsche Telekom currently has no plans to sell shares in its US subsidiary this year. This also expressly applies in connection with the ongoing share buyback program by T-Mobile US, as the Bonn-based DAX group, which currently still holds 52.8 percent of T-Mobile’s capital, announced. Deutsche Telekom has not sold any T-Mobile shares since the last transaction at the end of October last year.
“T-Mobile US once again delivered strong results in the 2025 financial year and is clearly on track to achieve the goals set at Capital Markets Day 2024. As the majority shareholder, we firmly support the strategy and focus on strong and sustainable earnings growth of T-Mobile US,” said Telekom CEO Tim Höttges. “We do not plan to sell T-Mobile US shares from our portfolio in 2026, not even during the ongoing share buyback. In addition, we are continually examining options to further increase our shareholding, provided this makes strategic sense and is financially attractive.”
