The new bus station in Groningen will be in use from Sunday 28 June and this will have consequences for the bus traffic timetable, also in Drenthe. Because the buses in Groningen will soon depart from the south side of the station, a lot of time will be saved, and therefore 1.5 million euros, says the Groningen Drenthe public transport agency.
The buses that drive from the south towards the Groningen station no longer have to drive all the way around the station.
The savings ensure that certain lines can run more often, such as line 4 between Groningen and Roden, Qliner 312 (Groningen-Gieten-Stadskanaal) and line 109 from Assen to Groningen Zernike. Another change can be found in line 5 to Zuidlaren, which will take a different route. No longer via the Brink, but via the Voorkampen and the swimming pool.
From June 28 to August 15, the buses will still run according to the summer holiday timetable, which means that there will be fewer buses than usual, especially on working days. From Sunday August 16, everything will run according to the normal timetable again.
