Marijke Helwegen is not impressed by the current season of The Voice of Holland. According to the society star, with coaches like Suzan & Freek it is way too boring. “All too gentle.”
Due to the enormous row about transgressive behavior, RTL has 4 of the revival turned The Voice of Holland into an extremely safe program. Too safe, many critics say. With types like Ilse DeLange and Suzan & Freek you will never get an exciting program. Willie Wartaal was hired for that purpose, but that didn’t produce any exciting lyrics either.
‘Better Anouk!’
Marijke Helwegen finds it all very disappointing. “Yes. They are all gentle and positive people, so I would have liked it if there were someone like Anouk, who does not mince her words,” she complains in conversation with the Story.
She thinks it is a blunder that RTL did not call Anouk. “She previously served as a coach on The Voice and she always said exactly what it was. She never beat around the bush.”
