Bayer can offer its herbicide Stryax in the USA after regulatory approval. The company announced this on Friday.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has registered low-volatility dicamba herbicides in 34 states. This opens the door for Bayer to launch Stryax, a restricted use pesticide.
The company is now planning to apply for approvals at the individual state level, said Ty Witten from Bayer’s Crop Science division.
Stryax helps control glyphosate-resistant broadleaf weeds and other difficult-to-control weeds. It also offers up to 14 days of soil action against certain weeds, helping farmers keep their fields clean, Bayer said.
Bayer shares have now risen by 0.81 percent to 46.17 euros via XETRA.
