Super Bowl 2026 will feature commercials with McConaughey, Affleck, Carpenter and Clooney. All spots with prominent stars at a glance for February 8th.
These stars are advertising at the Super Bowl
The 60th Super Bowl is scheduled for February 8, 2026. In Santa Clara, California, the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks are fighting for the coveted Vince Lombardi Trophy. Bad Bunny will also perform in the game’s halftime show. For many fans, there is traditionally a lot of focus on the commercials placed during the mega event. For these, advertising agencies usually think of unusual stories and always hire internationally known stars for the spots.
Why the effort?
There is a reason for the effort: attention. The Super Bowl is the biggest single sporting event of the year and one of the most watched TV events in the world. In the US alone, a record 19.1 million people tuned in for at least a minute last year, a measurement shows. But there is also enormous international interest in the event, which is illustrated by the high prices of eight million US dollars for 30 seconds of broadcast time.
In order to achieve greater effectiveness, the spots are published in advance. In Germany, the game will be broadcast on “RTL”, but the advertisements will not be shown. Therefore, here is an overview of the most interesting spots.
Matthew McConaughey announces food conspiracy
The Super Bowl traditionally revolves around food. Fast food chains offer special menus and fans often build entire mini stadiums out of snacks for watch parties. For Uber Eats, actor Matthew McConaughey now takes on the role of a conspiracy theorist who spreads the theory that football was only invented to sell food. He tries to bring this to other celebrities like Bradley Cooper.
Ben Affleck and sitcom stars of the nineties
Ben Affleck has been promoting the donut chain Dunkin Donuts for the fourth year in a row. He gets support from sitcom stars Jennifer Aniston and Matt LeBlanc from “Friends” as well as Jason Alexander from “Seinfeld”. This year it’s about the contents of a mysterious cassette. Jennifer Aniston is against this being published. Ben Affleck reassures her by saying, “It will only air once!” The timing is clear: “Everything will be revealed on February 8th, 2026,” was the caption on the video.
Sabrina Carpenter dreams of a real man
In the Pringles commercial, pop star Sabrina Carpenter complains: “I’m so tired of boys, I need a man.” Without further ado, she simply builds one out of Pringles chips. Although he keeps losing limbs on dates, the singer is happy until her beloved is eaten by fans.
Taika Waititi treats polar bears
The rivalry between Pepsi and Coca-Cola is an integral part of the history of advertising. This year, the Pepsi brand is working with Coca-Cola’s signature polar bear, which is completing the Pepsi Challenge. When he chooses Pepsi, he falls into a crisis of meaning and is then treated by Taika Waititi. He also directed the spot.
George Clooney hosting a dinner party
At the end of a dinner party, George Clooney announces that delivery service Grubhub will no longer charge delivery and service fees for orders over $50. The film was directed by renowned director Yorgos Lanthimos.
Emma Stone destroys laptop
Yorgos Lanthimos also directed the spot for the website creation platform Squarespace. Here Emma Stone takes on the leading role. She is seen in black and white destroying several laptops because the domain emmastone.com is already taken.
Adrien Brody as a “serious actor”
In the commercial for the tax platform TurboTax, Oscar winner Adrien Brody plays the role of “The Expert”. In doing so, he makes fun of his reputation as a serious actor.
The Kardashian Curse
In the “Bet on Kendall” spot for a betting company, Kendall Jenner jokes that every basketball player she’s dated has had things worse after their breakup. She also bet on it herself to finance an extravagant lifestyle. The twist: Now she wants to bet on football players.
The Super Bowl will be broadcast in Germany on the night of Sunday, February 8th to Monday, February 9th from 12:30 a.m. on “RTL”.
