The English Monastery in Carmersstraat has been struggling with leaking and sagging gutters for some time. This causes water to penetrate and cause damage. Thanks to the investment, roof and gutter work can be carried out and the dormer windows can also be repaired.
“Water damage may seem banal, but it has already destroyed many monuments,” says Minister Ben Weyts. “That is why we are intervening here now, so that our children and grandchildren can continue to admire the English Monastery.”
