The agreement does mean a slight price drop, but this is close to the agreements with other customers. “The prices must be known as quickly as possible. Our growers must make their business plans: renting land, sowing, everything must be arranged in a timely manner. It is very important that we complete this week,” says De Waele.
Whether this will lead to action again depends on the farmers themselves, because Greenyard’s blockade was not initiated by growers’ association Ingro.
