Worst case scenario looms
This is the crux of Upamecano poker

Dayot Upamecano’s future at FC Bayern is still unclear. Now Uli Hoeneß has also gotten into poker. The deal has a crucial point.
The club boss made it unmistakably clear that Bayern would no longer increase its offer to the defender and at the same time gave him an ultimatum: “We now want to come to a decision, and Dayot Upamecano knows that too.” Dreesen warned the Frenchman: “If you chew chewing gum for too long, the taste will eventually disappear. That’s why it shouldn’t stick like chewing gum.”
Almost four weeks have passed since then. However, the reaction from Upamecano and his advisors is still a long time coming – although the deadline set by Bayern is said to have expired on February 1st, according to “Bild”. Letting the deadline pass would undoubtedly be a clear affront to the Bayern bosses, who are increasingly losing their patience with Upamecano.
This was confirmed by honorary president Uli Hoeneß, who also got involved in the poker. “I am horrified by this behavior,” Hoeneß complained to the Frenchman’s agents. According to the club patron in “Kicker”, he knows that Upamecano “and his family feel very comfortable in Munich. However, I fear that his advisors will do everything they can to steer him away from Munich.”
A similar thing happened to the Munich team a few years ago when David Alaba left the record champions for Real Madrid on a free transfer in the summer of 2021. At the time, his star advisor Pini Zahavi insulted Hoeneß as a “money-hungry piranha”.
