Is Borussia Dortmund upping the ante on the transfer market again? This question came up again shortly before deadline day. BVB’s decision has now been made.

“We trust the squad and, after internal considerations, have decided that we will no longer do anything in the position. There will be no further new additions to Borussia Dortmund,” said sports director Sebastian Kehl on “Sky”.

The injury to central defender Filippo Mané had previously fueled the rumors surrounding BVB. The situation led to a crisis meeting between Kehl and coach Niko Kovac after the 3-2 defeat against 1. FC Heidenheim.

The likelihood of a transfer before the transfer deadline on Monday at 8 p.m. is “not particularly high,” Kehl then emphasized. But: “If Filippo hadn’t been injured, we wouldn’t have done anything. Now we’ll think about it. I know how many games we have left, who’s coming back and who’s available. So we’ll think about it and make a decision.”

“One or two phone calls,” announced the BVB manager. This did not result in any concrete transfer efforts, even if the portal “Fichajes.net” reported on a possible move with Axel Disasi (Chelsea FC).

BVB loses loan player Aaron Anselmino

In Waldemar Anton, Nico Schlotterbeck, Ramy Bensebaini, Niklas Süle and Emre Can, who was absent against Heidenheim due to illness, Kovac has five professionals at his disposal for his defensive three-man chain. In addition, depending on the severity of his injury, there is Mané.

Kovac can no longer fall back on Aaron Anselmino, whose loan from Chelsea to BVB was canceled. The Blues are expected to pass the 20-year-old Argentine on to their farm team Racing Strasbourg, where he will also play on loan until the end of the season.
