John van den Heuvel had telephone contact with Sylvia Geersen about the arrest of her fiancé Piet. She wants to have a baby with him soon, but will that still work? “Not for a while!”

Reality star Sylvia Geersen is in the news this month. First because she was asked to marry her — “YOU’RE NOT EVEN FILMING IT!” — and now because her new fiancé Piet has been arrested. He was handcuffed by the Spanish police as part of a larger Dutch investigation, in which five more suspects were arrested.

John calls Sylvia

After the marriage proposal, Sylvia shouted everywhere that she wants a marriage and a baby as soon as possible, but crime journalist John van den Heuvel fears the worst. “I had a brief telephone contact with Sylvia today and yes, she is shocked. She had not slept all night and of course finds it terrible,” he says in RTL Boulevard.

He continues: “Look, she sees her whole happiness collapsing a little bit. She says, ‘I knew absolutely nothing about this at all.’ In any case, she seemed sincere, let me put it that way. I find it extremely sad. She struggles a bit: what should I do next?”

No baby

According to John, there is no child for the time being. “It’s not possible to have a child quickly. That’s quite difficult when you’re arrested and detained like that, but hey: let’s hope for her sake, and for Piet too, that it all ends smoothly, but it looks serious.”

So John states that Sylvia knew nothing at all about Piet’s dark side, but we all know since his Marco Borsato debacle that John’s judgment is a bit shaky. How does Rob Goossens view it? “In any case, she knew that he was in a special environment,” he believes.

Love is blind

Rob mainly thinks that Sylvia didn’t want to see it. “She says that she has known him for 25 years as a friend of the family. Then you at least know what kind of environment he is in? But love is blind and you don’t know what stories he has been telling all this time about how he got his money.”

“We can now say: ‘Run, Sylvia, run’, but yes, what you say: love is blind.”

Very much in love

Luuk Ikink thinks that Sylvia is ultimately guided by her emotional life. “She was still deeply in love a week ago and that hasn’t suddenly gone away now, of course.”

Rob concludes: “That seems to me too. I hope for her sake that Piet is extradited to the Netherlands as soon as possible and it can all start here. If he is as convinced of his own innocence as she is, then this misunderstanding can be quickly cleared up.”
