At halftime, KZ coach Tim Bakker emphasized the need for his team not to lose any points against the bottom of the Korfball League in the battle for qualification for the play-offs. To the relief of the home crowd, that message only reached the KZ players halfway through the second half.
Blauw-Wit could no longer cope in the last part of the game and saw KZ go all the way with the score at 16-19. In the final phase, Blauw-Wit would only score four times, compared to twelve accurate hits from KZ.
