No fixed route or timetable, but make a reservation via an app or a call. In West Brabant, Bravoflex has proven to be a great addition to public transport since its start last year. With more than a hundred new stops, the service started this Friday in East Brabant.
One of the eight bus stops in the village was officially opened on Carmelietenstraat in Waspik on Friday afternoon by councilor Ad de Jong and deputy Stijn Smeulders. They took a ride to Waalwijk.
Braboflex started in West Brabant at the beginning of last year and it turned out to be a success. In one year, the number of stops in the region was expanded from 40 to 60.
Regional taxi companies
There have been a hundred new stops in East Brabant since Friday. A trip with the new carrier can be started from all 1,200 regular bus stops in East Brabant or the hundred new Bravoflex stops. Every day of the week until late in the evening, travelers can be taken from the starting stop to a transfer stop for 2 euros, where they can continue their journey. The trips are provided by regional taxi companies.
The aim is to connect small centers and suburbs with the public transport network in the rest of the province. “It is therefore really a supplement to public transport, not a replacement. This way everyone can continue to participate. And we make many more trips and meetings possible,” says the mobility representative.
More stops expected
The province expects that the number of stops in East Brabant will increase in the coming months. Bravoflex will start in South-East Brabant in March this year.
