Crown Prince Haakon of Norway comments on the trial of Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s son Marius Borg Høiby, 29, starting next week. Tells about it Aftonbladet.
Haakon spoke about the issue in front of the press on Wednesday. The Crown Prince emphasized that Norway is a rule of law and that the situation is difficult for all parties involved.
– We cooperate with all those affected. Not only in our own family, but everyone else who is affected, the crown prince said.
According to Aftonbladet, the crown prince couple will not attend the trial. The reason is that Mette-Marit will be on a private trip in the coming weeks.
– I trust that those in charge of the trial will ensure that it is carried out as fairly as possible, Haakon stated.
The trial against Høiby begins on February 3 at the Oslo District Court. Høiby is charged with 38 charges, including four counts of rape and other crimes.
That and Hør -magazine, among the first witnesses in the trial are two women who have previously worked as guards at the court. The women have been mentioned in the evidence, but according to the newspaper, neither of them is currently working at the court.
The women are scheduled to be heard on the third day of the main hearing, Thursday, February 5.
The prosecutor did not comment to Se og Hør in more detail why the security guards were called to the scene.
Love Island star Nora Haukland and a Norwegian model are also among the witnesses Linni Meisterwho are allegedly Høiby’s victims.
In addition, according to Se og Hør, the witnesses are other Norwegian names known from the public such as singers Mia Gundersen and Sophie Elise.
The trial is expected to last until March 19. Høiby will be heard on the second day of the main hearing.
