Tom Morello will honor Renee Good and Alex Pretti – two Minneapolis residents shot and killed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents – with the benefit event A Concert of Solidarity & Resistance to Defend Minnesota.

On Friday, January 30, Morello will perform at First Avenue in Minneapolis alongside Rise Against, Al Di Meola, Ike Reilly and a host of special guests.

The event includes two hours of music. All proceeds will benefit Good and Pretti’s families. Tickets are available now.

Springsteen and Morello: two friends against Trump

So much for the facts. But the music world is now interested in another question. Could it be that the boss in Minneapolis will also stop by for the concert?

The probability is not small. Bruce Springsteen is a friend of Tom Morello. The two get along – also politically. And what is not unimportant: Yesterday, Wednesday (January 28, 2026), Springsteen released a song about the riots in Minneapolis, “The Streets of Minneapolis”.

“I wrote this song on Saturday. Recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being unleashed on the city of Minneapolis,” Springsteen said in a statement. “It is dedicated to the people of Minneapolis. Our innocent immigrant neighbors. As well as the memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good. Stay free. Bruce Springsteen.”

Before Pretti’s death, Springsteen made a surprise appearance at the Light of Day Benefit in Red Bank, New Jersey. There he condemned ICE and the senseless killing of Renee Good. “If you believe in the power of law and that no one is above the law,” he said.

An immediate musical commentary on Minneapolis

“If you stand up to heavily armed, masked federal officers occupying an American city and using Gestapo methods against our fellow citizens, if you believe you should not be murdered for exercising your American right to protest, then you are sending this president a message – as the city’s mayor said: ICE should get the hell out of Minneapolis.”

One thing is certain: If Bruce Springsteen performed at the First Avenue club tomorrow, Friday, and supported Tom Morello, it would be a strong gesture – against Trump and ICE, and for the city of Minneapolis.
