The House of Representatives factions of D66, the VVD and the CDA have agreed to the coalition agreement that the party leaders concluded earlier this week.
D66 leader Rob Jetten says that there are still “a few minor points”, but the group can agree otherwise. Dilan Yeşilgöz (VVD) showed a photo of her phone on X, with the text “faction agrees”. The CDA needed a little longer to assess the agreement that should form the basis for a minority coalition. “We just wanted to do that carefully,” said CDA leader Bontenbal.
Jetten did not want to say exactly what “little points” were involved. “Sometimes there are things that you agree on as negotiators that you think: this is really brilliant,” said Jetten. “But then someone reads it for the first time and asks a few questions, and then you think: maybe we should formulate this differently.”
These will be discussed by the three negotiating parties on Thursday morning. Jetten does not expect that “very complicated things” will be brought to the table. The parties plan to present the final agreement on Friday.
