The KNVB has imposed a conditional fine on TOP Oss. During the home match against ADO Den Haag in December, the controversial confederation flag could be seen in the stands. That flag is associated with the history of slavery.
The football association is reprimanding the Osse club. TOP receives a conditional fine of 3,750 euros with a probation period of two years for the flag in the stands. “This is due to harming the interests of the professional football section or football in general by not taking and/or allowing or not removing the confederation flag, which flag was displayed on the occasion of the TOP Oss – ADO Den Haag match played on December 12, 2025,” reads the KNVB statement.
The prosecutor for professional football previously condemned TOP Oss in 2023 because the confederation flag was visible in the stands. The club also received a conditional fine. The two-year term had expired. No incidents occurred during those periods.
