Tina Nijkamp literally fell asleep during Humberto Tan’s TV interview with NATO boss Mark Rutte. “I certainly don’t do that often. I’m always quite awake,” she says.
It was remarkable television: Mark Rutte who was interviewed in RTL Tonight on Sunday evening with his secret confidant Tjardus van Citters, who has written a book about his premiership. Angela de Jong finds it strange that this man is suddenly looking for publicity, but Humberto Tan was happy to cooperate in any case.
Failed TV
Did it work? No, Tina Nijkamp sneers from the stool Today Inside. “I completely agree with Angela. When I saw that promo on Friday, I thought: who is that man? Who is that man? And suddenly it turns out to be an advisor who has written a book, while I think: Mark, what is the point of this interview for you?”
“In addition: why does that man want to write a book? Why do you want that? If you advise in the background and suddenly you want to come forward with such a book and you want to make money from it. That is certainly not right.”
Soporific
It was super boring, Tina thinks. “For the rest, I thought it was a really sleep-inducing interview. Really sleep-inducing. I literally fell asleep after ten minutes. I certainly don’t do that often. I’m always quite awake.”
She continues: “If it’s interesting, I’ll continue to watch, but now they first made a normal broadcast of RTL Tonight. With Erben, who started talking about his son Joep again!”
Johan Derksen: “Yes, did he say that his son is qualified? Three distances, eh!”
Tina: “Yes, and they had many other topics.”
“Go ahead!”
It was according to Tina too much. “It went on and on, it went on. After about forty minutes there was this interview that lasted about thirty minutes. Yes… I just found it soporific and I fell asleep. Not many people watched either. Just 500,000 viewers is not very much, because it was announced very grandly.”
She concludes: “I also thought that library setting was very ugly. That dark one. I thought: what do you want with this? That all three of you are very important people or something? I didn’t think it was good.”
