Three years after MY 21ST CENTURY BLUES, six-time BRIT winner Raye releases her second album. THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE will be released on March 27th.

Raye is back with a new album. The British singer and songwriter has confirmed that her second studio album is titled THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE and will be released on March 27th. Three years after their acclaimed debut MY 21ST CENTURY BLUES, the new work promises one thing above all: comfort, warmth and confidence in uncertain times.

Music as self-created medicine

The 28-year-old artist describes the album as a kind of self-made medicine. In a personal statement, Raye explains: “Music is medicine, I’ve always said that. I’m in the process of creating medicine for myself that I can share with the world.” It’s about having trust – in yourself and in the future. “I want us all to say to each other, ‘It’s going to be okay,’ and to have faith in the seeds I sowed beneath the snow.”

From the dark clouds, Raye opens a window to hope. The musician already shows her album cover on Instagram.

In terms of content, Raye sees her new album as a safe place. “I wanted to create something that would be a hug, a warming bed or a safe place for everyone who needs it,” said the singer. The album title already indicates that hope is not understood here as an empty phrase, but rather as an emotional core.

From “Escapism” to six BRIT Awards

The predecessor MY 21ST CENTURY BLUES was released in 2023, achieved great chart success and brought Raye a number one hit in the UK with the single “Escapism”. She won six awards at the BRIT Awards – a historic success. Songs like “Prada” also attracted international attention, while three Grammy nominations underlined their status as a permanent fixture in the pop cosmos.

Stolen car, lost songs – and a happy ending

The creation of the new album was by no means free of setbacks. In October 2024, the Brit made it public that her car had been stolen on her birthday – along with all of her songwriting notebooks. “So no second album in the near future,” she wrote ironically on Instagram at the time. Months later, however, there was a surprising turn of events: the police found the vehicle again, undamaged, including all texts. “Everything turned out well. Never give up hope!” she said later.

Viral chart hit “Where Is My Husband!”

The new album’s first single, “Where Is My Husband!”, was released in September 2025 and gave Raye her second UK chart-topper. The song also went viral on social media – a challenge arose to sing the quickly sung bridge part. The song also marked the start of the current tour with which she is currently traveling through Europe.

The 28-year-old thrilled people live with “Where Is My Husband!” already with Jimmy Fallon:

The tour kicks off on January 22nd in Poland, further concerts will follow, including two shows in Germany: on January 24th, 2026 in Berlin and on February 10th, 2026 in Cologne.

Mysterious album teaser: A rainy night in Paris

Her most recent Instagram story also provides clues to the conceptual design of the album. As with the debut, there seems to be a narrative “introduction”: “Allow me to describe the scene. Our story begins at 2:27 a.m. on a rainy night in Paris. Thunder rumbles. The concrete is covered with autumn dust, the sky is dark. A woman in her twenties…” reads a dark spoken word sequence on her Instagram story.
