Brooklyn Beckham has stated that he has no interest in reconciling with his parents David and Victoria Beckham. He accuses them of trying to “endlessly ruin” his relationship with his wife Nicola Peltz. for sabotaging her wedding and controlling the media representation of the family rift.
“I have remained silent for years and have done everything I can to keep these matters private,” Brooklyn wrote in a series of Instagram Stories on Monday.
“Unfortunately, my parents and their team continued to go to the press, leaving me no choice but to speak for myself. And to tell the truth about at least some of the lies that were printed. I don’t want to reconcile with my family. I won’t be controlled. And I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
Public family conflict
Brooklyn’s candid post is the latest escalation in the now very public dispute between the 26-year-old and his British superstar parents. The conflict manifested itself, among other things, in the fact that family members were absent from each other’s important events. Blocked each other on social media. And rumors of legal action circulated.

The aspiring chef linked the beginning of the profound rift to his wedding to Peltz in April 2022 in Palm Beach. Weeks before the lavish ceremony, which was estimated to cost over $3 million, Brooklyn claimed that his parents “repeatedly pressured him and tried to bribe me into giving up the rights to my name. They insisted that I sign before the wedding date because then the terms of the contract would come into effect. My hesitation affected the payout. They have never treated me the same since.”
Allegations surrounding the wedding
Brooklyn also claimed that his mother, Victoria, who rose to fame as “Posh” with the Spice Girls and later became a successful fashion designer, canceled Peltz’s wedding dress “at the last minute. And forced her to urgently find a new dress.” On the day of the wedding, Victoria also “humiliated” the newlywed couple by “usurping” Brooklyn and Peltz’s first dance.
Brooklyn also accused his father David of ignoring the couple’s attempts to spend “quality time” together on his 50th birthday last May. “He refused all of our attempts unless it was his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras on every corner,” Brooklyn wrote.
“When he finally agreed to see me, it was on the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited. That was a slap in the face. Later, when my family traveled to Los Angeles, they completely refused to see me.”
“The Beckham brand comes first”
“My wife was consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we tried to come together as a unit,” Brooklyn added. “My family puts publicity and endorsement deals above all else. The Beckham brand comes first. Family ‘love’ is measured by how much you post on social media or how quickly you drop everything to pose for a family photo – even if it comes at the expense of our professional obligations.”
Brooklyn also stated that he had suffered from severe anxiety for most of his life. However, since he “distanced himself from my family,” this fear has disappeared. He found “peace and relief” through it.
