In the midst of the public discussion over the evolution of prices, Javier Milei once again used a resource that has already become common in his digital communication: comics. This time, the President shared on his official Instagram account a comparative illustration that covers the inflation levels inherited and left by the last three governments.

The graph, presented with a comic-book aesthetic, begins with Cristina Kirchner, who took office in 2007 with an annual inflation of 8% and ended her second term, in 2015, with 27%. Then Alberto Fernández appears, who arrived at the Casa Rosada in 2019 with an inflation of 53% and ended his term in 2023 with an annual rate of 211%.Milei Comic

The last painting is dedicated to Milei himself. According to the comic released by the president, he took office in 2023 with inflation of 211% and, in the space of two years, managed to reduce it to 31.5% annually. The message aims to synthesize, in a few strokes and forceful numbers, the main economic argument of the ruling party: the inflationary slowdown as the central axis of its management.

It is not the first time that Milei uses this format. For months, both he and other government officials have been sharing illustrations and graphic pieces produced by libertarian accounts, which combine humor, political slogans and economic data. The objective is clear: to translate technical discussions into simple, viral and easily consumable language on social networks.

With these comics, the President reinforces a communication strategy that seeks to dispute meaning in the digital field, speak to a young audience and convert macroeconomic numbers into easy-to-read visual stories. The battle against inflation, at least on Instagram, is also fought in vignettes.
