Haber is known as a long-term supporter of HIFK’s hockey men’s representative team.
Haber said on Thursday at the Sports Gala that during the difficult moments of his career, he felt that he was able to be in the middle of his family when he went to the ice rink in Helsinki to watch the match.
– When I go to the hall, I’m there Samu among others. There, they check in the popcorn queue for me the same way as for everyone else, Haber said.
Haber also likes to go to the provinces to watch HIFK’s away matches.

HIFK is struggling in one matter. Despite the weak season, the average number of spectators at the club’s home matches is the second best in the series, 7488. Only the league leader Tampere Tappara is ahead.
According to Haber, the endless enthusiasm of the fans has been amazing to watch.
– Even if there are five matches in a row, the gang keeps a great house. Probably for many, for whom IFK is an even bigger part of their lives, contorting has hurt their hearts. But nobody can do anything about it if two players on the field have broken bones. The activity of the fan corner has been exciting.
Haber considers the “secret” of HIFK’s popularity to be traditions, a large economic area and the influence of various club legends.
– Many in Lahti, Kouvola and even Turku can be envious of how loyal the HIFK fans are, Haber said.
Haber has received his share of the blame due to HIFK’s poor athletic success.
– As a HIFK fan, you’re used to the fact that the season doesn’t always go smoothly. It would even go sometimes. It’s part of sports that sometimes you lose – and sometimes you lose more. Now it has looked a little better again.
