In terms of sport, BVB is playing its best first half of the season in seven years. The Black and Yellows can also achieve economic success.
After the first half of the season, BVB has 36 points – a score that Dortmund last reached seven years ago, when they became autumn champions in the 2018/19 season. There is also positive news off the pitch: According to information from the “Bild” newspaper, Borussia Dortmund has entered into a new partnership with the technology company Lenovo.
The contract should run for at least two years. The Bundesliga club receives around two million euros per season. Lenovo, headquartered in Hong Kong and also FIFA’s technology partner, will become the club’s new premium partner. The cooperation should be particularly visible at the home games in Signal-Iduna-Park.
The new collaboration is a further step in the club’s marketing strategy. Last season, BVB earned more than 150 million euros in sponsorship – a value that is well above the entire personnel budget of numerous Bundesliga clubs.
Only at the beginning of the season did BVB present a new main sponsor, Vodafone, who will pay up to 30 million euros annually. The sleeve sponsorship on the jersey was also remarketed with the Swedish electric car manufacturer Polestar. Thanks to a three-year contract, Borussia should receive up to five million euros annually. In addition, there is the contract extension with supplier Puma until 2034, which is expected to bring in up to 400 million euros.
