Angela de Jong states that she is allowed to take her loved one to the annual DPG Media company party, but that new company acquisition Linda de Mol is not allowed to do so. “There has to be a difference.”
The wonders are not over yet: Linda de Mol and Angela de Jong — or, as Linda calls her: ‘that pathetic, intensely false Angela de Jong’ — become each other’s colleagues at DPG Media. The Flemish media giant, which also owns AD, has taken over Linda’s magazine from Talpa, because the magazine market is under pressure and they cannot survive on their own.
‘That will be fun!’
How does Angela view this? Does she think she can build a good relationship with Lin? “That will be fun at the new DPG company party,” she says cynically AD Media Podcast.
The AD opinion diva never goes there, she continues. “No, that’s why. And I thought: thank God we’re not allowed to bring a partner to the company party. The chance that Jeroen Rietbergen will walk the floor here is a little smaller.”
“I’m allowed!”
Things are different for Angela. Her husband Albrand Leeuwe is welcome at DPG, because he also works for the AD. “I can bring my partner to the party, yes. There has to be a difference. Linda isn’t, I am.”
Does she think it was a good decision by DPG Media to acquire Linda’s magazine? “If DPG thinks they can do something with that magazine and make it run like a charm again, be my guest.”
Magazine market
Is the LINDA. actually still a great success? “Well, it’s not that way anymore… But then again, that’s the entire magazine market. It’s a difficult market. But then again, we weren’t doing very well when DPG took us over. And now look, what a flourishing company we are.”
Linda has not yet commented on her new colleague Angela. It is currently in the rag basket again.
